As the Coronavirus sweep the globe, people have urgently learned how easy it is to contract the virus. The fear of contracting the virus is on everyone’s mind and has disturbed our daily lives and jobs. How can tools help GAP direct contact between people and viruses?

The CDC states that you can get coronavirus from touching an object. “Current evidence suggests that novel coronavirus may remain viable for hours to days on surfaces made from a variety of materials. Cleaning of visibly dirty surfaces followed by disinfection is a best practice measure for prevention of COVID-19 and other viral respiratory illnesses in households and community settings.”

As we adjust to a new normal, the fear and continual precaution of viruses will stay with us for a very long time. This will certainly impact cleaning and maintenance jobs such as groundskeepers, landscapers, and public workers when handling discarded trash, from streets, roads, and parks. Trash used and touched by humans can harbor highly contagious viruses.

A new start-up (Grab-All Company) developed a long handle garden tool that operates as a reach-pick-up tool that Gathers and Grabs bulky piles of debris. The professional tool is called “Grab-All”. The 48-inch long handle tool saves time and effort when handling debris at an upright position without bending or straining the body.

“The Grab-All tool forms a safe 48-inch GAP between debris and the user when gathering and picking-up debris. - working safer, and smarter”, said Hector Avila, Founder and CEO of the Grab-All Company.  When Avila designed the Grab-All, he not only wanted to developed a tool that improved the way people manually handle and dispose of outdoor debris and leaves, but also a tool that consumed zero emissions. Furthermore, Avila incorporated an important feature into his product design that easily and quickly shoves/gathers large piles of debris, reducing the use of polluting emission tools such as leaf blowers, etc.
